About Me

Hello and welcome!

My name is Brittany Thomas, and I’m a copywriter for Ilitch Sports + Entertainment in Downtown Detroit supporting creative and marketing content for the Detroit Tigers, the Detroit Red Wings and 313 Presents. A passionate skill-seeker and lifelong learner, I’m currently pursuing both a master’s degree in communication at Wayne State University and a graduate certificate in digital marketing at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I received my bachelor’s in public relations honors from Wayne State in 2022.

Before joining Ilitch Sports + Entertainment in February 2024, I spent nearly seven years serving in multiple full-time administrative and communications roles at Wayne State. During my time at Wayne, my duties required me to develop and distribute creative print, digital and social content for the university community, utilize advanced layout and graphic design for print and web correspondence, and foster a positive relationship with the university’s various constituencies.

In addition to my formal education, I hold a certificate from Poynter-ACES (American Copy Editors Society) in editing, an Accredited Project Manager Certification (APRM) from IO4PM, specializations in social media marketing from the Digital Marketing Institute and visual storytelling from the University of Colorado-Boulder, certificates in content strategy from Northwestern University and graphic design from the California Institute of the Arts, and I am a Certified Digital Marketing Associate (CDMA) through the Digital Marketing Institute.

When I’m not in the office, I enjoy reading, writing, listening to music, attending sporting events and musical performances, going on long walks, spending time with family and friends, and taking trips and vacations!

I invite you to continue exploring my website to see some of the content I’ve enjoyed producing over the years.

Ciao!
